Claude Edward Lyons

Mr. Claude Edward Lyons, 52, of Hamden, CT entered eternal rest Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Connecticut. Mr. Lyons was born in Skipwith, VA to Marvin A. and Nannie Bell Lyons on July 29, 1958.  Claude received his education at Hamden High School, Hamden, CT. He was employed with the International Group, Inc. for more than 40 years, and never missed a day from work. Claude was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Alfred Lyons. Cherishing his memories are his mother, Nannie Bell Lyons of Hamden, CT; sister, Margaret ; six aunts, May Puryear, Mary Smith, Pauline Nelson, Juanita Lyons, Barbara Lyons, and Ruth Lyons,; four uncles, Ralph Lyons, Julious Lyons, William Lyons, Billy Puryear, a niece, Yolanda Lyons-Tubman (Alfred); and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Claude Edward Lyons will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA, with Rev. Charles D. Allen officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
