Mr. Clarence Leslie Hardy (Kingfish), 88 of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, March 23, 2012 at Chase City Nursing and Rehabilitation. Mr. Hardy was born in South Hill, VA October 23, 1923 to the late Leslie Hardy and Mary Etta Johnson-Hardy. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and worked in a steel mill as well as farming. In addition to his parents Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his wife Anna Lee Green Hardy; one son, Clarence L. Hardy, Jr.; two sisters, Muriel and Rachel and one brother, Clinton Hardy. Cherishing his memories are his children, Linda May, Kenneth Lee, Geraldine and JoAnn Hardy, Phyllis Regan, Bernadine Jenkins, Celestine McGhee, Shirley Hardy, Bernice Jackson, Patricia Hardy and Sylvester Ronald Hardy; 27 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosetta Hardy-Hicks; one brother-in-law, Norwood Hicks; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hardy; three sons-in-law, Melton Jackson, Jr., John Regan and Christopher McGhee; two daughters-in-law, Janice Hardy and Teresa Hardy. Funeral Services for Mr. Clarence Leslie Hardy will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 30, 2012 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with burial following in the Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
