Christine Venable Jordan

Mrs. Christine Venable Jordan, 74, of East Orange, NJ and formerly of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Monday, December 27, 2021 in East Orange, NJ. Mrs. Jordan was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on May 3, 1947 to the late Eddie and Anna Lee Venable. At an early age, she attended Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Clarksville, VA, and was educated in the public schools of Mecklenburg County. Mrs. Jordan later relocated to New Jersey where she gained employment with Acme Supermarket in Montclair until her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, dancing, and talking with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her son, Stacie; sister, Loretta Darden, and brothers, Roy, Weststovel, Warden, Charles and Floyd Venable. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 47 years, Wilhelm Jordan of East Orange, NJ; her sisters, Evelyn, Estell, Patricia and Josephine all of Clarksville, VA; brothers, Clarence (Stella), Russell, Freddie and Stanley all of Clarksville, VA; sister-in-law, Rose Marie Williams of Tamarac, Fl, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Graveside services for Mrs. Christine Venable Jordan will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery, Clarksville, VA with Pastor Raymond A. Roberts, Sr. officiating. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Mask are required to be worn for all viewings and services. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
