Chester Robert Toone

Mr. Chester Robert Toone, 77, of Victoria, VA entered eternal rest Monday, August 20, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Toone was born in Yonkers, NY July 27, 1941 to the late William “Rob” Toone and Nannie Mariah Toone. He was a 1959 graduate of Commerce High, Yonkers, NY, and also was a graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology, Manhattan, NY. Mr. Toone was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, Mr. Toone was preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. Goodall, Jr. Cherishing his memories are his children, Michelle Toone of Mount Vernon, NY and Francesca Toone Crawford of Brooklyn, NY; five grandchildren, Daniel, Courtney and Mario Toone, and Kristoffer and Morgan Tobias; three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Joshua and Charlotte; a sister, Deanna Toone Tawiah of Raleigh, NC; ex-spouse, Maureen Price Toone; life partner, Anna F. Jackson, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. William Moore III delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, Victoria, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will begin 10:00 AM Saturday at the chapel. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
