Charlotte Mae Lester

Mrs. Charlotte Mae Lester, 77, of Buffalo Junction, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at her residence. Mrs. Lester was born in Buffalo Junction, VA June 26, 1944 to the late Edward Braxton and Willie Coleman Poole. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and at an early age she became a member of Saint Mark Baptist Church. She was previously employed by Roberts Restaurant, Russell Stover Candies and later Halifax County School System. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lucinda Sanford. Left to cherish her precious memories are her husband, Rev. James W. Lester of Buffalo Junction, VA; daughter, Deborah G. Lester of Perth Amboy, NJ; son, Whitt Lester (Judy) of Brooklyn, NY; four grandchildren, Sherrell Danielle Johnson, Whitney Lester, Darryl Daniel and Devontay Edwards; four great-granddaughters; four sisters, Mattie Riddick (Millard) of Portsmouth, VA, Emma Coleman Carr (Rodney) of Boston, Mass, Willie C. Smith of New York, NY, and Mildred Boone (Charlie) of Newark, NJ, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A graveside service for Mrs. Charlotte Mae Lester will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, December 20, 2021 at Saint Mark Baptist Church Cemetery, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Darrell Howard, officiating and Rev. James W. Lester delivering the eulogy. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 6 PM. A mask is required for all viewings and services.
