Mr. Charles Winston Day, 61, of Nelson, VA entered eternal rest Monday, May 12, 2008 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mr. Day was born in Mecklenburg County, VA Sept. 10, 1946 to the late Piercie C. and Tassie Maude Ethel Williamson Day. He was a graduate of West End High School and a member of Wharton Memorial Baptist Church, Nelson, VA. He was an original member of the Averette Community Young Adult Choir, a member of the Men’s Chorus and a member of the Senior Choir.  He was employed by Burlington Industries for 38 years. Mr. Day was preceded in death by one daughter, Katherine Renee Day. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Lillian Day of Bullock, NC; three daughters, Deborah Day of Nelson, VA, Charmain Day of Creedmoor, NC and Latonya Day of Bullock, NC ; one son, Linwood Nelson of Durham, NC; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Hazel Boxley of Nelson, VA, Clara Trawick and Dorothy Day both of Buffalo Junction, VA, and Sarah Burton of Chase City, VA; one brother, Clifton Day of Buffalo Junction, VA; eight sisters-in-law,  seven brothers-in-law, one uncle, George Sizemore; two special nephews, Eldred Day and Jason Puryear and a vast number of other loving relatives a caring friends. Funerals Services for Mr. Charles W. Day will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Wharton Memorial Baptist Church, Nelson, VA with Rev. James A. Hudson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Wharton Memorial Gardens, Nelson, VA. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 until 8 P.M. at C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 216 4th street, Clarksville, VA.
