Charles Edward Puryear

Mr. Charles Edward Puryear, 59, of Lynchburg, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, January 5, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Puryear was born in South Boston, VA August 1, 1960 to the late Howard T. and Ruth Pulliam Puryear. He attended Halifax County Public Schools, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA. Mr. Puryear was a former employee of R. O. Wilkins Construction and Dollar General in South Boston, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Puryear was preceded in death by a daughter, Chante S. Puryear; two brothers, Roy Lee Pulliam and Howard C. Puryear, and a sister, Annie Puryear. Those left to cherish his memories are a daughter, Tresylain M. Puryear of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren, Za’miyah M. and Za’liyah A. I. Blathers of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Emma Ragland (Marvin) of South Boston, VA, Ruth A. Puryear of Manassas, VA and Cynthia R. Puryear of Lynchburg, VA; two brothers, Herman Pulliam (Marjorie) of Wilmington, DE and Donnell Puryear (Janie) of Chase City, VA, and a vast number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Charles E. Puryear will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, January 12, 2020 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
