Ceree Beasley Rainey

Mrs. Ceree Beasley Rainey, 83, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Chase City Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Mrs. Rainey was born in Putnam County, Georgia on June 5, 1932 to the late Elder James and Mary Lucy Hargrove Beasley. She was a graduate of Douglas High School, Putnam County, GA. She later relocated to Chase City, VA where she was a member of Greater Union Baptist Church and was formerly employed by Hampco Apparel, Inc. for many years, later gaining employment at Jonbil, Inc.  Some of her hobbies included gardening, cooking, fishing, quilting and crocheting. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rainey was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert Lewis Rainey and three siblings, James Beasley, Jr., Willie Beasley and Evelyn McLean. Cherishing her memories are one daughter, Marcia E. Oliver of Richmond; four granddaughters, LaShauna, Chauita, Alicia and Shamika; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; devoted sister, Gloria Johnson of Kings Mountain, NC; three sisters-in-law, Inez, Mae and Pearl; one brother-in-law, Jesse  and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A funeral service for Mrs. Ceree Beasley Rainey will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City with Rev. Linda Goode, officiating.  Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City.  Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M.
