Carrie Lee Thompson

Mrs. Carrie Lee Thompson, 90, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at her residence. Mrs. Thompson was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on April 13, 1932 to the late James Robert and Hattie Lucy Coleman Goode. She received her education in the schools of Mecklenburg County, and was a member of Union Baptist Church in Chase City, VA where she served in several capacities including a Missionary, and was active on the Usher Board and Sunday School. Mrs. Thompson was a retiree of Jonbil, Inc. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, visiting family and shopping. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Thompson, Sr.; son, Floyd Thompson; daughter, Lottie T. Hayes; three grandchildren, Cassandra Hayes, Calissa R. Thompson and Kevin D. Thompson, six brothers and one sister. She leaves to cherish her loving memory four sons, Harry Thompson, Jr. (Mary Ann), Clarence Thompson, Sr. (Helen), Emmanuel L. Thompson, Sr. (Sherbeth Jean) and James Jones (Brenda) all of Chase City, VA; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; devoted nieces, Sandra Parrish and Christine Hayes-Woodson; son-in-law, Thomas Hayes, Sr., and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Lee Thompson will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 20, 2022 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Sharon Baskerville officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson Family Cemetery in Chase City. Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A mask is required for all viewing and services. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
