Mrs. Carrie Eva Goode, 94, of Chase City entered eternal rest Monday, January 15, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Goode was born in Chase City, VA July 3, 1923 to the late Hammett and Mary Fannie Smith Terry. She attended the historic Thyne Institute in Chase City, and was a member of Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was a lifetime member of the NAACP. While living in New York, she was a self-employed barber and also was employed by Sky Chef at JKF Airport. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goode was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Goode; son, Alfred Terry Kirton; sisters, Lucille Goode and Jeanette Williams, and brothers, Herbert Terry and Freddie E. Terry, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories two children, Dariel Terry of Colonial Heights and Albert Kirton (Helen) of San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren, Albert Kirton, Jr. (Lisa), Felicia Kirton and Amber Kirton; one great–grandson, Albert Kirton III, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City with Rev. Dr. Freddie E. Terry, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden, Chase City. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
