Mrs. Carolyn D. Boyd, 57, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Retreat Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Boyd was born in Chase City, VA January 23, 1955 to the late Norman and Betty Harris. She attended Bluestone Senior High School and was a member of Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. She was a member of the church Usher Board, Choir and the Hospitality Committee. She was formerly employed by Chase City Nursing and Rehabilitation. Cherishing her memories are her husband, Albert Boyd, Jr. of Chase City, VA; one daughter, Christine Harris of Chase City, VA; two sisters, Peggy Harris Wilson (Jessie) of Dolphin, VA and Gloria Harris of Lacrosse, VA; four brothers, Curtis Harris (Phyllis) of Baltimore, MD, Donald Harris of Newport News, VA, Michael Harris (Gloria) of Lacrosse, VA and Larry Harris (Ann) of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister-in-law, Nannie Allen (Ronnie); one brother-in-law, Lewis Boyd of Richmond, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn D. Boyd will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer, officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Viewing will on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
