Carolyn Ann Dixon-Smith

Mrs. Carolyn Ann Dixon-Smith, 66, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Chase City Health & Rehab Center, Chase City, VA. Mrs. Smith was born in Boston, Massachusetts April 7, 1948 to the late Edward and Hassie Amis Dixon.  She received her early education in the Boston Public School System, and later obtained her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development from Roxbury Community College.  While in Boston, she worked as a Director for many years.  Upon moving to Virginia, she opened  C. A.D.S Daycare Center.  Mrs. Smith was a member of Wharton Memorial Baptist Church, Nelson, VA. Cherishing her memories are her husband, John Smith of TN; one son, Rodney Dixon of Boston, MA; two granddaughters, Tamika and Alice Dixon of Philadelphia, PA;  one Goddaughter, Sheree Leake-Jones of Clarksville, VA; two brothers, Ronald Dixon and Charles Dixon (Gayle) of Valrico, FL; two aunts, Amanda Amis of Dorchester, MA and Maggie Leake of Clarksville, VA; two uncles, Charles Amis (Elsie) and Ralph Amis (Dorothy) of Washington, DC; cousin, Donna Robinson of Clarksville, VA; special friends Jessie Terry of Clarksville, VA and Joanne Samuel of Aiken, SC and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Ann Dixon-Smith will be conducted 2:00 P.M.  Saturday,  June 21, 2014 at Wharton Memorial Baptist Church, Nelson, VA with Rev. Dr. James A. Hudson, Jr., officiating.  Burial will follow in Wharton Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA. Service 2:00 P.M.
