Carol Rowlette Bowers

Mr. Carol R. Bowers, Jr., 90 of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mr. Bowers was born in Mecklenburg County, VA April 9, 1922 to the late Carol Sr. and Gertrude Bowers. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Saint Taylor RZUA Church, Boydton, VA. He retired from The Lumber Company in Baskerville, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowers was preceded in death by his first wife Effie Bowers, and by his second wife, Annie Brown Bowers and by one child, Michele Bowers.   Cherishing his memories are his children, Janice Bowers of Chase City, VA, Gwen Irving of Boydton, VA, Betsy Bowers of Greensboro, NC and Joyce Bowers of Springfield, NY, Keith Bowers of Highland Spring, VA, Lisa Bowers Chandler (Rev. Lance) of Lynchburg, VA, Marilyn Bowers of Boydton, VA, Saudia Halim (Yahya) of Richmond, VA, Barbara Winkler (Thomas) of Milford, NJ, Hannie Brown, of Chase City, VA, VA, Rosalin Duncan of South Hill, VA, Perry Brown of Baskerville, Cheryl Coleman, Chase City, VA, Joyce Minor of Boydton, VA, Joan Brown of San Diego, CA, James Brown (Raquel) South Hill, VA, Shelia Jones (Dean) both of South Hill, VA, Ronnie Blackwell and Clarence Harris both of Richmond, VA a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one sister, Arnell Bowers Heyward of Clarksville, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Carol R. Bowers, Jr. will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Saint Taylor RZUA Church, Boydton, VA with Rev. Frank Morse, Officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowers Family Cemetery, Boydton, VA. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
