Carl Jerome Carter

Mr. Carl Jerome Carter, 81, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Carter was born in Chase City, VA on November 7, 1940 to the late Lenton and Josephine Hayes Carter. He was a 1958 graduate and Alumni of West End High School, and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Chase City, VA where he served on the trustee board and sang with the Men of Bethlehem choir. Mr. Carter was a former barber and barbershop owner. He was an avid sports fan, and in his spare time enjoyed golf, basketball, and bowling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Arthur, Richard, Alfred, Melvin and Clarence; two sisters, Elaine Jones and Shirley C. Spence.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory one son, Darryl Miller of Chase City, VA; two grandchildren, Darryl J. Miller and Jasmine Payne; great-grandson, Ethan; one brother, Thad Carter (Marjorie); four sisters, Mozella LaMarr (Tommy), Wallica Griffin, Sue C. Carter (John) and Delores Brooks (Wilbert), and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Carl Jerome Carter will be conducted 12:00 Noon, Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Dr. Ricky A. Lee officiating.
