Bonita Faye Hester

Ms. Bonita Faye Hester, 63, of Waldorf, MD entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC.

Bonita, or “Bonnie”, as she was affectionately known by friends and family, was born on July 5, 1961 to Joseph P. Hester and the late Shirley S. Hester. She graduated from Bluestone Senior High School in 1979 and was baptized at Greater Union Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She worked a variety of jobs throughout her life and has lived between Chase City, VA, Washington, DC, Durham, NC and Maryland. Bonita loved her children and family dearly and was a kind person with a genuine spirit; she never met a stranger.

Ms. Hester leaves to cherish her memory her children, Khadijah Hester and Jomian Hester; her father, Joseph P. Hester; her siblings, Marsha Terrell, Brian “Keith” Hester (Debra), and Michael Hester (Wendell), a host of nieces and nephews, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Bonita Faye Hester will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Linda Goode officiating. Burial will follow in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M.
