Billy Osborne, Sr.

Mr. Billy Osborne, Sr., 81, of South Hill, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Osborne was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on October 1, 1940 to the late Frank and Vernie Hamilton Osborne. He attended West End High School, and was a member of New St. Douglas Baptist Church in Boydton, VA. Mr. Osborne was formerly employed by Spaulding Lumber Company in Chase City. He loved dancing, hunting, shooting pool, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Osborne was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn Osborne; sister, Eula Skipwith and brother, Warren G. Osborne. He leaves to cherish his memory is wife of 60 years, Mary Alice Hicks Osborne of South Hill, VA; two sons, James Osborne of Clarksville, VA and Billy Osborne, Jr. (Glenda) of Suffolk, VA; three daughters, Mary Ann Gregory (Henry) of Chase City, VA, Linda Osborne Roberts of South Hill, VA and Donna Osborne Hargrove (John) of Boydton, VA; 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Osborne of Skipwith, VA, Joseph Osborne of Richmond, VA and Thomas Osborne of Charlotte County, VA; four sisters, Essie Osborne Brown of Washington, DC, and Peggy Spearman, Betty Puryear (Major) and Alice Burton (Ronnie) all of Newport News, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mr. Billy Osborne, Sr. will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at New St. Douglas Baptist Church, Boydton, VA with Rev. Linda Goode delivering the eulogy. A mask will be required for all services. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
