Beulah D. Sallie

Mrs. Beulah Dodson Sallie, 84, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday, October 8, 2006 in Richmond, VA. Mrs. Sallie was born in Mecklenburg County, VA July 1, 1922 to the late George W. and Fannie B. Wood Sallie. She was a lifetime member of Concord Baptist Church, but worked for many years with her husband at Williams Grove Baptist Church, Chase City, where she was a missionary and choir member. During her retirement years she took great pride in her volunteer services and mission work with the Lake Country Commission on Aging. She worked in this effort for over 25 years. Cherishing her memories are four daughters, Ann King (Wiley) of Richmond, VA, Betty Coleman (Willie) of Atlanta, GA, Barbara Edwards (Johnnie) of Suffolk, VA and Margaret Palmer (Lowell) of Alberta, VA; three sisters, Irene Gordon, Leola Wood and Henrietta Weddington all of Chase City, VA; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; nephews, Reginald Dodson, Claude Wood, Christopher Wood; nieces, Vernall Gordon, Yvonne Bowers, Regina Couch and LaDonna Hardy; devoted friends, Christine Long and Ardella Boundurant and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Beulah Dodson Sallie will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 13, at Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. E. Douglas Reams, officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main Street, Chase City, VA.
