Beulah Ann Johnson

Mrs. Beulah Ann Johnson, 78 of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Sentara Meadowview Terrace Nursing Home, Clarksville, Virginia. Mrs. Johnson was born September 1, 1938, daughter of the late Douglas Alexander Goode and Florence Idell Davis. She received her education in the public school system. She was baptized at an early age and joined the Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, Virginia. As a youth, she joined the BTU, and served as secretary. She was a faithful choir member and later president of the choir for twenty-two years, clerk of the church for thirty-two years, secretary of the Sunday school for twenty-three years, and a member of the Missionary Society. She worked faithfully until later moving her membership to the Lone Oak Baptist Church, Chase City, Virginia. There she continued to work as secretary of the Missionary Society, president of choir for four years and Treasurer of the Sunday school. Mrs. Johnsons’ past employers included Standard Garments, Wheaton Industries, Burlington Industries, and Russell Stover Candies. Cherishing her memories are her husband of 61 years, Leon her children: Ronald Johnson(fiancée Edith) of Chase City, VA, Joyce Tisdale (Charles) of Raleigh, NC, Carl Johnson of Richmond, VA., and Minister Francel Johnson (Yolanda) of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Shawanda, Chris, Tavonna, Brandon, Latoya, Carmen, Charles III, Natalie, Aleah, Christopher, Amber and Monique; twenty-eight great-grandchildren, four sisters, Shirley Mallory (Sydner) of Chase City, VA Evelyn Hunt (Preston ) of Meherrin, VA Nancy Hoard (Alfonzo) and Laverne Keene (Jesse) of Richmond, VA, brothers- in-law: Calvin Johnson and Junius, Jr. Johnson; sisters-in-law, Rhoena Brown, Elzena Williams, Antionette Crosson. Marietta, GA, and a vast number other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 20, 2017 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA with Rev. Dr. Freddie Terry, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing Sunday, 12:00 Noon until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
