Betty S. Mosley

Mrs. Betty S. Mosley, 101, of Wylliesburg, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Chase City, VA.

Mrs. Mosley was born in Charlotte County, VA on April 9, 1923 to  the late Alice Wilson Lindsey. She attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA and at an early age joined Rocky Branch Baptist Church in Red Oak. She would later move her membership to New St. Luke Apostle Church in South Boston, VA. Mrs. Mosley was a sharecropper, homemaker, and retired from Charlotte County Public Schools with 23 years of dedicated, perfect attendance service. She was a prayer warrior who love mentoring, cooking, fishing, her indoor houseplants and reading the bible.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Littell Mosley, Sr; sons, Ralph Staten, Jr., Lawrence Staten, Sr., and Clyde Staten; and great-grandchildren, Ares Demetri and Angel Lou Coleman.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Rachel Staten and Pastor Phillip Staten, Sr. both of Drakes Branch, VA, Rita Bullock, Evangelist Brenda Perkins (Deacon Terrell) and Sherbet Jean Thompson all of Chase City, VA, and Oliver Staten of Wylliesburg, VA; stepchildren, Littell Mosley, Jr., Roosevelt Mosley, Harvey Mosley, Geraldine Roberts, Beatrice Roberts and Gloria Rogers; twenty grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Dailey of Red Oak, VA and Barbara Jean Staten (James) of Richmond, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty S. Mosley will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Bishop Harry Jerome Betts delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Rocky Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will begin on Monday from 2:00 P.M until 6:00 P.M.
