Betty Jean Terry

Miss Betty Jean Terry, 52, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Miss Terry was born in Skipwith, VA September 22, 1958 to the late Overstreet and Susie Burwell Terry. She was a 1976 graduate of Bluestone Senior High School and furthered her education by attending and graduating from Virginia State College (now University) and Ohio State University. She was a member of Saint Matthew Baptist Church where she served on the Missionary and Usher Board and was the former Financial Secretary. She was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Order of Eastern Star. Miss Terry was employed at Bluestone Senior High School as a Health and Physical Education Teacher as well as coach of the girls basketball, track and softball teams until her health failed.  Cherishing her memories are her siblings, Thomas Terry (Erika) of Radcliffe, KY, Lawrence Terry, James Terry and Daisey Terry all of Clarksville, VA and Barbara Terry of Chase City, VA; eight uncles, three aunts and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Miss Betty Jean Terry will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2011 at Saint Matthew Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Delmar Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home.  Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
