Mrs. Beatrice Townes Williams, 99, of Boydton, VA transitioned from this earthly life on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 in Boydton, VA. Mrs. Williams was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on February 14, 1920 to the late Jessie and Bessie Richardson Townes. She received her early education in the Mecklenburg County Public Schools, and was a member of New St. Douglas Baptist Church in Boydton, VA. Mrs. Williams was a retired cook who in her spare time enjoyed sewing and attending church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Williams, Sr.; one son, Jessie Lloyd; one great-grandchild, Dakyah Washington and eight siblings. She leaves not to mourn her passing, but to cherish many loving memories one son, Floyd Williams, Jr. of Boydton, VA; 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Sally Parks of Boydton, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice Townes Williams will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Sunday, May 12, 2019 at New St. Douglas Baptist Church, Boydton, VA with Rev. Chester Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Easter’s Cemetery, Boydton, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
