Barbara Mejtksy

Mrs. Barbara Elam Mejtsky, 65, of Philadelphia, PA and formerly of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Monday, July 1, 2013 at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Mrs. Mejtsky was born February 14, 1948 to the late Arthur Elam and Belvia Ellis Elam in Chase City, VA.  She attended the public schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, later attending St. Pauls College in Lawrenceville, VA, receiving an Associate Degree in Education.  She became a member of Finneywood Baptist Church at an early age.  After relocating to Philadelphia, PA, she became a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church, where she served on numerous committees.  She was formerly employed by INA/CIGNA Company for 25 years and BNY Mellon Bank as a Branch Manager. Cherishing her memories are her husband, George Mejtsky; one godson, Anthony Harris; three sisters, Esther Elam, Florence Stackhouse and Carol Nesmith and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.  Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Mejtsky will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Finneywood Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Dr. James E. Scott, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Public  viewing on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the church.
