Barbara Long Brooks

Mrs. Barbara Jean Long Brooks, 75, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Chase City Health and Rehab Center, Chase City, VA. Mrs. Brooks was born in Halifax County, VA on May 26, 1946 to the late Robert and Florine Walton Long. She was a 1964 graduate of Mary M. Bethune High School in Halifax, VA, and was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Alton, VA. Mrs. Brooks was formerly employed by Jones Apparel in South Hill, VA. She was married to the late Robert N. Brooks, and this union was blessed with one son. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Robert P. Brooks; four grandchildren, Ashley, Alexis, Devonté and Dashaun, her great-grandchildren; devoted caregivers, Zandra Little and Rosa Morales, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service with limited seating of 50 for Mrs. Barbara Jean Long Brooks will be conducted 2:30 P.M. Saturday, December 11, 2021 in the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris delivering the eulogy. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
