Barbara Ann Smith

Mrs. Barbara Ann Wood Smith, 65, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Thursday, February 2, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Smith was born in Charlotte County, VA, August 27, 1940 to the late James Wood and Blanche L. Wood. She was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Saxe, VA and a homemaker. Cherishing her memories are eight children, Glenda Smith, Brenda Smith, Barbara Smith, William Smith Jr., Loretha Traynham, Tyrone Smith and Kim Smith all of Chase City, VA and Keith Smith of Saxe, VA; 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, her mother, Mrs. Blanche L. Wood of Saxe, VA; seven sisters, Gracie Pulliam of Keysville, VA, Beulah Wood, Arlene Redd and Joyce Ann Wood all of Wylliesburg, VA Hazel Harris of Saxe, VA, Mahalia Smith of Chase City, VA and Sandy Hughes of North Carolina; three brothers, Irvin Wood, Brooklyn, NY, James Wood of Newark, NJ and Isaiah Wood of Saxe, VA; three sons-in-law. Three daughters-in-law, seven brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Ann Wood will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 6, at Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Saxe, VA with Rev. James E. Scott officiating.
