Barbara Ann Bass

Miss Barbara Ann Bass, 68, of Bridgeport, CT entered eternal rest Sunday, January 26, 2014 at her residence.                              Miss Bass was born March 30, 1945 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Freddie and Enolia Fields Bass. She attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools and was a 1964 graduate of West End High School, Skipwith, VA.  After graduation, she relocated to Newark, NJ for to two years before moving to Bridgeport, CT, where she resided for 48 years.  She was formerly employed by Jacqueline Nursing Home, G. E. Remington Arms and retired from Bic, USA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers; Freddie Jr., Marshall Edward, William James, Percy Lee, Thomas Lewis and Larry Darnell Bass. Cherishing her memories are three sisters, Mable Jean Bass and Tracy Smith, both of Bridgeport, CT and Annette Durham (Michael) of Clarksville, VA; two brothers, Ray Bass (Bonita) of Richmond, VA and Joe B. Bass of Dalton, GA; two nephews she loved as her own, Travon Smith and Corey Bass; other loving nieces and nephews and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Miss Barbara Ann Bass will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at New Light Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.   Service 1:00 P.M.
