Augustus Loring Brummell, Jr.

Mr. Augustus Loring Brummell, Jr., 82, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Universal Healthcare in Oxford, NC. Mr. Brummell was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on May 25, 1938 to the late Augusta L., Sr. and Elnora Royster Brummell. He attended West End High School in Skipwith, VA, and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2 in Clarksville. Mr. Brummell was a retired farmer who enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Emily Scott Brummell; second wife, Luetta Griffin Brummell, and his siblings, Thomas, Hilda and James Brummell. He leaves to cherish his loving memory two sons, Roscoe H. Small, Jr. of Durham, NC and Tracy Small of Bullock, NC; three daughters, Gwendolyn Brooks (Tony) of Oxford, NC, Deborah Coleman (Darryl) of Creedmoor, NC and Stacy Harrington (Joseph) of Cameron, NC; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor B. Terry (Chester) of Ponte Vedra, FL; five brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law to include special caregiver, Sylvia Griffin; devoted friend, Floyd Baskerville (Veronica) of Clarksville, VA, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A graveside service for Mr. Augustus Loring Brummell, Jr. will be conducted 12:00 Noon Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church #2 Cemetery, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Cornelius Ogburn officiating. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a mask will be required for all viewings and services.
