Arline Watkins Bunch

Mrs. Arline Watkins Bunch, 93, of Victoria, VA peacefully entered into eternal rest Saturday January 16, 2010 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mrs. Bunch was born October 22, 1916 in Victoria, Virginia daughter of the late Cleveland and Fannie Watkins.  At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and joined Calvary Baptist Church in Rehoboth, VA.  She traveled from Rehoboth to New York, where she joined Messiah Baptist Church.  At Messiah Baptist Church, she continued her work with the Lord and received honors for her years of dedicated service with the Senior Usher Board in 1987.      After retirement, she returned to Rehoboth and her beloved Calvary Baptist Church.  There she joyfully served on the Usher Board and dedicated her services in other areas.  Calvary Baptist Church also awarded her honors for her many years of dedication to the Usher Board in 2007.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis Bunch; seven sisters and five brothers.   She leaves to cherish her memories: her sisters Letty M. Hall of East Orange, New Jersey and Naomi W. Johnson of Richmond, VA as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other loving  relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Arline Watkins Bunch will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA with Rev. Jasper K. Cheek, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
