Ardell Baskerville Harris

Ms. Ardell Baskerville Harris, 72, of Danville, VA and formerly of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at Kindred Hospital, Greensboro, NC. She was born in Mecklenburg County, VA July 23, 1933 to the late John Washington Baskerville and Ida Mae Terry. She attended school in Mecklenburg County, graduating from West End High School in Clarksville, VA. At an early age she joined Lands Chapel RZUA Church and remained an active member until her disability. She spent most of her adult life in East Orange, NJ where she worked as a domestic worker for many years. She was an active member of the Lands Chapel Improvement Committee and was very active in the Senior Activities at Bailey Holt Towers. Ms. Harris was married to Thomas Harris Jr. She was preceded in death by one brother, Alphonso Baskerville and one sister, Mollie Baskerville House.Cherishing her memories are six nieces, Bessie Simmons of Danville, VA, Shirley Overby (Charles) of Boydton, VA, Minister Juanita Standfield (Floyd) of Milton, NC, Joyce Austin (Joseph) and Loretta House all of Boydton, VA, Percell Morse (James) Newark, NJ; one nephew, Calvin House (Betty); a host of great nieces and nephews other loving relatives and friends including a special friend Ms. Novella Swann.Funeral services for Ms. Ardell Baskerville Harris will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 5, 2007 at Lands Chapel RZUA Church, Boydton, VA with Rev. Floyd C. Standfield, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral home and Cremation Service, 216 4th St. Clarksville, VA.
