Anthony Wayne Cypress

Mr. Anthony Wayne Cypress, 54, of Buffalo Junction, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Chase City Health & Rehab Center.

Mr. Cypress was born on March 6, 1969 to the late Jerry M. Cypress, Sr. and Dorothy Helms Cypress. At an early age, he was baptized and joined Bethel Memorial RZUA Church, La Crosse, VA. He also attended his extended family's home church, Good Hope Baptist Church in Blackridge, VA. Mr. Cypress enjoyed playing bucket drums when he was young, which resulted in his passion for playing in his adult years; he played for several churches within his community. He worked at Southside Grave and Vault for many years, and gained employment with Clary Trucking in 2016. Mr. Cypress was also a proud member of the Mecklenburg County Masonic Lodge #280. He was known for his funny and comedic side because he would joke around with any and everyone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one step-son, Rakim T. Davis; maternal grandmother, Sarah E. Helms; mother-in-law, Ella C. Brown and two brothers-in-law, Antonio Hutcherson and Michael Brown.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife, Rhonda Cypress; daughter, KaTisha Lewis; step­daughter, Teonia Watts; step-sons, Donald R. Clayton, Jr. (Nia), Dashay L. Harris, Michael L. Davis, Marvin L. Davis and Ceonte Watts; five grandchildren, Nyla Davis, A'Mira Davis, Layla Davis, Za'Mir Cypress and Legend Lewis; sister, Katrina Cypress; brother, Jerry Cypress, Jr.; five aunts, Linda Valentine (George), Reva Helms, Maybell Williams, Barbara J. Cypress and Joyce Helms; seven uncles, Roman Helms, Jr., Clarence Helms (Carol), Clinton Helms (Ella), Henry Cypress, Jr., Isaac Cypress, Milton Cypress and Larry Cypress; father-in-law, Henry Hutcherson, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Anthony Wayne Cypress will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 24, 2023 at the chapel of C. H. Haris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Fran Jackson, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Baptist Church Cemetery, Clarksville, VA. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
