Annie R. Bowers

Mrs. Annie R. Bowers, 73 of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill, VA. Mrs. Bowers was born in Mecklenburg County, VA May 21, 1933 to the late Harold and Luvenia Jones. She attended Thyne Institute, Chase City, VA and was a member of Saint Taylor, RZUA Church, Boydton, VA. She was employed with Melody Manor Nursing Home in Boydton for 28 years prior to retiring. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James C. Brown, eight children, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Cherishing her memories is her husband, Carol R. Bowers of Boydton, VA; her children, Barbara Finley, Hannie Brown, Rosalind Duncan, Perry Brown, Chery Coleman and Marilyn Bowers all of Boydton, VA, Joyce Minor of Clarksville, VA, Joan Ramirez-Nieto(Manuel) of Chulavista, CA, James Brown (Rachel) and Shelia Jones (Dean) all of South Hill, VA, one step-daughter, Dianne Jackson of Brooklyn, NY, Keith Bowers(Pandora) of Highland Springs, VA, Lisa Chandler (Lance) of Lynchburg, VA, Saudia Shamsud-Deen of Richmond, VA, two devoted foster sons, Ronnie Blackwell of Lawrenceville, VA and Clarence Harris of Warfield, VA; step-daughters, Janice Bowers, Gwendolyn Irvin, Betsy Bowers and Joyce Bowers 34 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, two brothers, James Jones of Washington, DC and Richard Jones (Celestine) of South Hill, VA; one sister, Rebecca Wilson (William) of Lacrosse, VA; two sisters-in-law, Arnell Bowers of Boydton, VA and Shirley Jones of Rocky Mount, VA; one aunt Lillie Jones of Chase City, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Annie R. Bowers will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 23, 2007 at The R.Z.U.A. Headquarters and Conference Center, Lacrosse, VA with Rev. Earl Walker, officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery, Boydton, VA. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7 until 8 P.M. at C.H. Harris Funeral Home, Clarksville, VA. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 216 4th street, Clarksville, VA.
