Annie Laura Spencer

Mrs. Annie Laura Spencer, 97, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Meadowview Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mrs. Spencer was born in Mecklenburg County VA January 27, 1913 to Willie and Malissa Royster.  She attended public schools in Mecklenburg County, Virginia.  She was member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, where she was Deaconess, former Mother of the Church, Sunday school teacher, former president of the Missionaries, sang in the choir served as an Usher, and custodian of the church In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Spencer, one son, Clarence; daughter, Carolyn, seven brothers, four sisters, and three grandchildren.   Cherishing her memories are her children, Novella Spencer of Washington, DC; William C. (Ruby) Spencer of Richmond, VA; Harriett Spencer of East Orange NJ; Matthew (Elaine) Spencer of Irvington, NJ; Clinton (Diane) Spencer of Montclair, NJ; and Barbara Spencer of Clarksville, VA; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren as well as many, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Annie L. Spencer will be conducted 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction.  Burial will follow in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, Buffalo Junction.  Arrangements are by C.H.
