Mr. Andrew Crawley, Jr., 63, of Saxe, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the residence of his son in Chase City, VA. Mr. Crawley was born in Charlotte County, VA April 10, 1949 to the late Andrew and Ophelia Crawley. He attended Charlotte County Public Schools and was a faithful member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. He served his country in the U.S. Army and later served in the National Guard until retiring. He also was a retiree of the Virginia Dept. of Corrections and a member of Laconia Masonic Lodge #208 of Red Oak, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Crawley was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Ann Puryear Crawley. Cherishing his memories are two children, Cynthia Delores Crawley of Saxe, VA and Andrew Jerome Crawley (Cynthia) of Chase City, VA; three grandchildren, Daiquon, Shafon and Destiny; one great-grandson, Ja’Karie; one sister, Elizabeth Ann Middough (Ike) of Alexandria, VA; one brother, John Charles Crawley (Virginia) of Red Hill, PA; four aunts, devoted friend, Helen Hill and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Andrew Crawley, Jr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA with Rev. Dr. James E. Scott, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in First Baptist Church Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
