Amy Katrina Downey

Ms. Amy Katrina Downey, 49, of Roxboro, NC entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Person Memorial Hospital, Roxboro, NC.

Ms. Downey was born in South Boston, VA on March 10, 1974 to the late Tursey Lee Holloway Boswell. She was a 1992 graduate of Bluestone Senior High School in Skipwith, VA, and furthered her education at Vance Granville Community College in Henderson, NC. Ms. Downey was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Clarksville, VA where she sang with the choir. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Amy was a true prayer warrior who loved to lend a helping hand, the color orange, and would make you smile with a joke or two.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two aunts, Oma Lee Small and Clara Lee, and two uncles, Irvin and John Holloway.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Rayvon L. Downey of Roxboro, NC; one sister, Madonna Wilkerson (Maurice) of Henderson, NC; two aunts, Leonia Roberts and Queen Holloway; two nieces, Maniyah Couch and Mia Couch, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Amy Katrina Downey will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA with Rev. Raymond A. Roberts, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
