Miss Amanda Michelle Downey, 28, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Granville County, NC. Miss Downey was born in Halifax County, VA on January 21, 1992 to Kelvin Hargrove and Kristen Downey. She was a graduate of Bluestone High School in Skipwith, VA, and was employed by Food Lion Distribution Center in Butner, NC. She loved children, and enjoyed playing video games. Miss Downey was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Amanda N. Downey; paternal grandmother, Delois Hargrove Small; great-grandmothers, Charlotte (Carletha) Smith and Ernestine Nelson; aunt, Joyce Moffitt, and an uncle, Lester Boswell, Jr. Cherishing her memories are her parents, Kristen Downey (Jason) of Clarksville, VA and Kelvin Hargrove of Chase City, VA; two brothers, Dion and Daylon Hargrove both of Chase City, VA; maternal grandfather, Arthur Downey (Brenda) of Clarksville, VA; maternal great-grandfather, Robert Lee Carter (Pat) of Manassas, VA; maternal great-grandfather, Willie B. Nelson of Clarksville, VA; aunt, Stephanie Terry (D’Angelo) of South Hill, VA; special friend, Nadira Carey and children, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A private graveside service was conducted Thursday March 26, 2020 at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mack Talley conducting the service. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
