Alma Shirley Taylor

Mrs. Alma S. Taylor, 72, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 at Meadowview Terrace, Clarksville, VA. Mrs. Taylor was born in Wightman, VA March 3, 1945 to the late Herbert L. and Jennie Hayes Parrish. She attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church. She previously held employment with Mecklenburg Correctional Center of Boydton, VA, DRS and Meadowview Terrace of Clarksville, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by four brothers, James, George, Joe and Willie Parrish; four sisters, Mamie P. Smith, Louise Simmons, Odessa Leggins, and Corine Elena Parrish. Cherishing her memories are her husband, Marvin Taylor of Clarksville, VA; daughter, Jazmyn Jackson of Clarksville, VA; two sisters, Gladys Parrish of South Hill, VA and Clara Hayes of Clarksville, VA; devoted niece, Veronica Brummell; one brother-in-law, James Taylor (Roszina) and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 at Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Linda Thornton, officiating. Arrangements are by C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clarksville, VA.
