Alex Tucker

Mr. Alex Tucker, 77 of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Sunday July 13, 2008 at Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA.  Mr. Tucker was born in Halifax County, VA June 18, 1931 to the late Sam and Mary Harris Tucker. He attended the Schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was a member of Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA.  He was a former employee of Carmin Lindsey Logging. Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Jeffress and Clarence Lawrence and two brothers, Leonard Tucker and Fitzugh Tucker. Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife, Mrs. Estelle C. Tucker of Chase City, VA; one son, James Alex Tucker of NJ; one daughter, Laverne Pulliam (Charles) of Fort Mitchell, VA; five step-children, Eddie Coleman (Gloria) of Walkerville, MD, Marilyn Newby of Disputanta, VA, Deborah Roundtree  (Leonard) of Woodbridge, VA, Marguerite Tillerson (Willie) of Skipwith, VA and Brenda Jones (James) of Chase City, VA; five grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister, Creola Tucker of Chase City, VA; one brother, Woodrow Tucker of Chase City, VA; one uncle, two aunts, three sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.  Funeral services for Mr. Alex Tucker will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Silone Baptist Church, Chase City, VA with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer, officiating. Burial will follow in North View Baptist Church Cemetery, South Hill, VA.  Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1304 North Main St. Chase City, VA.
