Alberta Hepburn Darden

Mrs. Alberta H. Darden, 97, of Victoria, VA entered eternal rest Monday, March 2, 2015 at VCU Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. Mrs. Darden was born in Rehoboth, VA February 24, 1918 to the late Mince and Rosa Tisdale Hepburn. She received her early education in the schools of Lunenburg County, VA and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA. Mrs. Darden was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Darden and one son, Richard W. Darden; three sisters and three brothers.  Cherishing her memories are two sons, John M. Darden (Myrtle) of Baltimore, MD and Edward H. Darden (Jewel) of Lagrangeville, NY; nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; one sister, Lessie Blackwell of Victoria, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Alberta H. Darden will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA with Rev. Earl Walker, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will held on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
