Albert Boyd, Jr.

Mr. Albert Boyd, Jr., 73, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Chase City Health and Rehabilitation, Chase City, VA. Mr. Boyd was born in Mecklenburg County, VA July 8, 1946 to the late Albert and Lillie Bacon Boyd. He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County, VA, and was a member of Silone Baptist Church. He was retired from Lewis Tree Service of Chase City, VA. In Albert’s spare time he enjoyed fishing, and his dog, Pee Wee. In addition to his parents, Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Smith Boyd; his second wife, Carolyn Harris Boyd; sisters, Betty Ann Hayes and Roberta White, and a brother, John Lewis Boyd. Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of his daughter, Christine Harris of Chase City, VA; his sister, Nannie B. Allen (Ronnie) of Chase City, VA; four nieces, Patricia Boyd, Shirley Toombs, Tiffany Allen and Shawn Boyd; five nephews, Larry Hayes, Curtis Hayes, Rodney Boyd, Christopher Boyd and J. L. Boyd, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Albert Boyd, Jr. will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Melvin J. Palmer delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
