Addie Mae Celestine Clayton-Roberts

Mrs. Addie Mae Celestine Clayton-Roberts, 79, of Clarksville, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Roberts was born in Person County, NC September 19, 1935 to the late Monroe and Addie Thomas Clayton.  She attended the schools of Person County, NC and was a graduate Of North Carolina College, now North Carolina Central University.  Mrs. Roberts was a retired art teacher with the Mecklenburg County school system and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Roberts; two brothers, Dr. Dewey M. Clayton, Sr. and Thurman Davis Clayton;  two sisters, Wilma Clayton-Bryant and Claytea Clayton. Cherishing her memories are two children, Tracy Y. Roberts of Hampton, VA and Rodney C. Roberts (Jennifer) of Bristow, VA; one granddaughter, Reese Roberts; two brothers, Atty. Theaoseus T. Clayton, Sr. (Eva) of Raleigh, NC and William H. Clayton, Sr. (Janie) of Clayton, NC; two sisters-in-law, Christine Clayton Pope and Magnolia Blackwell Clayton; three brothers-in-law, Chambois Roberts, Richard Roberts and Dennis Roberts and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Addie Mae Celestine Clayton-Roberts will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Derek D. Mondeau, officiating.The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M.  until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Lake Country SPCA P.O. Box 14, Clarksville, VA 23927, in memory of Addie Clayton-Roberts. Arrangements are by C. H.
