Walter Thomas Goode

Mr. Walter Thomas Goode, 87, of Chase City, VA transitioned into eternal life on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Goode was born in Lunenburg County, VA on August 7, 1931 to the late Carrie Bacon Macklin and Johnny Goode. He was a United States Army Veteran, and a retired tobacco farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Maurice Gayles Goode; a brother Jessie Lee Bacon, and one great-great- granddaughter. Cherishing and honoring his memory are his daughter, Landora Gayles Sanchez (Jose) of Chase City, VA; three granddaughters, Connie R. Tucker (Prince) of Atlanta, GA, Rosalind R. Birchette (Stacy) of Petersburg, VA, and Adrine R. Banks (Joe) of Chase City, VA, seven great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Macklin of San Francisco, CA; one brother Cephas Macklin of Columbus, OH, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
