Roosevelt Franklin Dailey

Mr. Roosevelt Franklin Dailey, 67, affectionately known as "Buck", of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mr. Dailey was born May 3, 1950 in Charlotte County, VA to Ruth Wilson Dailey and the late Benjamin Franklin Dailey. He received his education in Charlotte County Public Schools and at an early age joined Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Saxe, VA. Mr. Dailey worked on the farm for over 40 years. In addition to his father, Mr. Dailey was preceded in death by one sister, Yolanda Dailey. Cherishing his memories are his mother, Ruth Dailey of Red Oak, VA; eight brothers, Jimmy Dailey (Connie) of Prospect, VA, Carnell Wilson (Joanne) and Anthony Dailey (Bonnie) all of Clarksville, VA, Herman Wilson (Sylvia) of South Boston, VA, Alexander Wilson (Alender) of Dillwyn, VA, Russell Dailey (Vickie) of Nelson, VA, Stepforn Dailey of Waverly, VA and William Wilson of Washington, DC; six sisters, Charlotte Dailey (Jesse) of Chase City, VA, Eyvonne Craddock (Tyree) of Red Oak, VA, Marilyn Dunlap (Quennoth) of Springfield, VA, Karen Gallimore (Ronald) of Drakes Branch, VA, Andrea Dailey of Red Oak, VA and Mattie Redd of Washington, DC ; three uncles, six aunts, devoted friend, Barbara Winstead and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Roosevelt Franklin Dailey will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. James Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Silone Memorial Garden, Chase City, VA. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
