Mary Etta Barnes Goode

Mrs. Mary Etta Barnes Goode, 71, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at VCU/MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA. Mrs. Goode was born in Mecklenburg County, VA April 29, 1938 to the late Patrick and Arlene Haskins Barnes. She was a 1955 graduate of West End High School and a member of Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA. Mrs. Goode was preceded in death by one sister, Ms. Delores Epps. Cherishing her memories are her husband, Mr. Harry Lee Goode of Chase City, VA; one daughter, Bonita Ann Goode of Lantham, MD; two brothers, Andrew Barnes of Bronx, NY and Robert Barnes (Barbara) of Cullen, VA; sisters-in-law, Annie B. Hargrove (Frank), Francis Goode and Carrie Thompson (Harry); brothers-in-law, Gable Goode (Trentice) and Abraham Goode (Juanita) and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Etta Barnes Goode will be conducted 4:00 P.M. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak, VA with Prophet Harry L. Williams, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
