Jimmy Lee Cheatham, Jr.

Mr. Jimmy Lee Cheatham, Jr., 61, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Mr. Cheatham was born in Mecklenburg County, VA October 21, 1958 to the late Jimmy Lee Cheatham, Sr. He attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools, and was a member of Concord Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. He was a former employee of Butler’s Wood Crafters. In addition to his father, Jimmy was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna and Shirley Cheatham, four aunts, and two nieces, Felicia Walker and Teresa Boyd Cheatham. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Mattie Walker Cheatham of Chase City, VA; three sons, Azablon, Javonte and Kevin Cheatham all of Chase City, VA; his mother, Mammie Lee Penick Cheatham; brother, Alfred Cheatham; two aunts, four uncles; devoted friends, Jerry Smith and George Taylor, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy L. Cheatham, Jr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 16, 2020 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Raleigh M. Bagley, III officiating. Interment will be private. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
