James Biggers

Deacon James Biggers, 83, of Victoria, VA entered eternal rest Monday, September 15, 2014 at Wayland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Keysville, VA. Deacon Biggers was born in Lunenburg County, VA February 28, 1931 to the late William A. and Lula Mae Bruce Biggers. He attended the schools of Lunenburg County, VA and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA.  At Calvary he served as a Deacon and a choir member. Deacon Biggers previous employment was in law enforcement. Cherishing his memory are his wife, Mrs. Eleanor J. Biggers of Victoria, VA; one daughter, Jo Ann Peterson (Petie) of Baltimore, MD; four sons, James Jr. (Patrice), Jerome, Jessie and Darnell Biggers all of Baltimore, MD; two adopted daughters, Janice Salley (Chris) of Chase City, VA and Joyce Pulliam (Brian) of Skipwith, VA; one adopted son, Robert Wright (Jay) of Steelton, PA; three step-sons, Steven Pulliam (J.T.) of Roanoke, VA, Carlton and Richard Pulliam (Denise) all of Chase City, VA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Jones of Baltimore, MD; one sister-in-law, Joyce T. Doggette of Chase City, VA; one brother-in-law, Robert Tucker of Baltimore, MD; devoted friend Stewart Neblett of Kenbridge, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Deacon James Biggers will be conducted 12:00 Noon Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria, VA with Rev. William Moore III, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
