George Lee Darden

Mr. George Lee Darden, 65, of Norlina, NC entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Hock Family Pavilion, Durham, NC. Mr. Darden was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on September 29, 1950 to the late Charlie Roosevelt Baptist and Lucille Darden. He received his early education in the public schools of Mecklenburg County, VA and was formerly employed as a bus mechanic for Franklin-Vance-Warren County Schools. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one brother, Robert James Darden. Cherishing his memories are his wife, Wanda Kearney Darden of Norlina, NC; one son, Devante Darden of Norlina, NC; two step-daughters, Shemika Kearney and Tiffany Crudup of Henderson, NC; nine grandchildren; six brothers, Roy L. Darden of Atlanta, GA, Charlie Darden, Jr. of Skipwith, VA, Wilbert A. Darden of Reidsville, NC, Danny G. Baptist of Clarksville, VA, John L. Baptist of Bullock, NC and Roscoe Baptist of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Ann M. Jones of Greensboro, NC, Julie M. London of Los Angeles, CA and Nancy Baptist of Dale City, VA; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Perry of Wake Forest, NC, Cynthia Williams of Warrenton, NC and Linda Kearney of Franklinton, NC and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. A memorial service for Mr. George Lee Darden will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev.
