Ervin Crawley

Mr. Ervin Crawley, 77, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. Mr. Crawley was born in Chase City, VA on June 23, 1942 to the late Manuel and Fleeta Pulliam Crawley. He attended the schools of Charlotte County, VA and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Drakes Branch, VA. Mr. Crawley was a retired construction worker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Elizabeth Walton Crawley; two sons, Ervin Crawley, Jr. and Alfonso Crawley; a daughter, Mary Lena Crawley; two brothers, Jerry and James, and one sister, Marie Daniels. Cherishing his memories are two sons, Michael Crawley of Newark, NJ and Leon Crawley of Portsmouth, VA; two daughters, Fern Marie Crawley Higgs of Portsmouth, VA and Joann Townson of South Boston, VA; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, one brother, Manuel Crawley of Irvington, NJ; three sisters, Betty Battle of Willingboro, NJ, Pauline Roberts of East Orange, NJ and Irene Davis of Portsmouth, VA, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Ervin Crawley will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 8, 2019 at Shiloh Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA with Rev. Dr. Horace B. Parham, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
