Ella Maurice Goode

Mrs. Ella Maurice Gayles Goode, 85, of Chase City VA transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at her residence surrounded by family members. Mrs. Goode was born in Mecklenburg County VA on February 28, 1933 to the late Matthew and Katie Jones Gayles. She attended Berean Baptist Church in Chase City VA, and was a former employee of Jonbil in Chase City VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, six brothers, and one great-great granddaughter. Cherishing and honoring her memory are her husband, Walter T. Goode of Chase City VA; one daughter, Landora Gayles Sanchez (Jose) of Chase City VA; three granddaughters, Connie R. Tucker (Prince) of Atlanta, GA, Rosalind R. Birchette (Stacy) of Petersburg VA and Adrine R. Banks (Joe) of Chase City VA; seven great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Gayles of Chase City VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones. A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Ella Maurice Gayles Goode will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Chase City Banquet Center from 2:00 PM. to 5:00 PM. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
