Deacon Carol Evans, Sr.

Deacon Carol Evans, Sr., 80, of Boydton, VA entered eternal rest Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at his residence. Deacon Evans was born in Mecklenburg County, VA November 29, 1937 to the late Charlie Baptist Evans and Fannie Foster Evans. He attended West End High School, and at an early age joined Trinity Episcopal Church, Boydton, VA. He later joined Greenwood Baptist Church, Boydton, VA where he was a Deacon. He was a former employee of Burlington Industries, Inc., retiring after 35 years of service. In addition to his parents, Deacon Evans was preceded in death by an adopted daughter, Fannie Oliver and three brothers, Charlie and William Evans and George Baskerville, Jr. Cherishing his memories are his wife of 59 years, Rosa M. Evans of Boydton, VA; five children, Tracy Duncan (Reggie) of Boydton, VA, Carol Evans, Jr. of Radcliff, KY, Carolyn Evans of La Crosse, VA, Orlando Evans (Diane) of Vine Grove, KY and Joan Barnes of Newark, NJ; two adopted sons, Robert and George Oliver both of Boydton, VA; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carnell Evans, Sr. (Arvella) of Richmond, VA and Lawrence Baskerville (Annie Lee) of Chase City, VA; two Goddaughters, Crystal Mangum and Laurine Jordan, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Deacon Carol Evans, Sr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the chapel of C. H. Harris Funeral Home, Buffalo Junction, VA with Rev. Toney Smith officiating. Interment will be private. Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
