Ashby Gale Bell, Jr.

Mr. Ashby Gale Bell, Jr., 70, of South Hill, VA entered eternal rest Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Chase City Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Bell was born in Mecklenburg County, VA October 24, 1947 to the late Ashby, Sr. and Gladys Jones Bell. He attended East End High School, South Hill, VA, and was a member of Williams Grove Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. Mr. Bell was a former employee of Rex Materials of Virginia, South Hill. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bell was preceded in death by one brother, William Alton Bell. Cherishing his memories are two sisters, Brenda Bell Burwell of South Hill, VA and Ola Mae Montgomery of Newark, NJ; two aunts, Iola Pulliam of Boydton, VA and Claudia Bell of Newark, NJ; nephews and nieces, Tony Pamplin, Mark Goode, Heather B. Patterson, Stephanie Bell, Alma Fuller, Shelly Gregory, Kelly Gregory and Terry Harris, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends. Funeral services for Mr. Ashby G. Bell, Jr. will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA with Rev. Andy Hargrove, officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Chase City, VA. Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
